OCI manages projects greater than $300,000 related to infrastructure improvements such as water and sewer lines, landfill improvements, sidewalks, greenways and nature trails, renovations or expansions to public buildings, and transportation planning for the community. Project Managers serve as a critical link between contractors, architects, engineers, stakeholders and the needs of the public. OCI oversees these projects to ensure publicly funded improvements create accessible, safe, functional and efficient assets that serve the needs of our community.

Courthouse 5th Floor Upfit

South Point Access (Phase 4)

Public Safety Boathouse

Tryon Courthouse Rd. Sidewalk Install (CMAQ)

Gaston County is constructing a new sidewalk spanning about 2,300 linear feet from the Creekside mobile home neighborhood to Tryon Elementary School.
Chapel Grove Elementary Waterline Extension (ARPA)

This project installs approximately 11,300 linear feet of waterline to connect Chapel Grove Elementary School to the municipal water system.
Poston Park Sidewalk (CMAQ)

A newly constructed sidewalk will link the current walkway near the Preston Place neighborhood to the entrance of Poston Park along Lowell-Spencer Mountain Road.
Neal Hawkins Sidewalk (CMAQ)

This project will construct 4,400 feet of sidewalk along Neal Hawkins Rd. connecting the Parkside subdivision to the existing sidewalk network at Martha Rivers Park.
Landfill Improvements

The County is constructing additional gas collection wells and control infrastructure as well as soil-capping 24 acres of the C&D portion of the landfill.
