Project Scope:
This project will renovate and upfit the 3,270 square foot vacant building at 110 West Main Avenue in Gastonia. This upfit will provide office space, conference rooms, storage and a collaborative work area for community meetings and bid openings.
Background:
In 2023, Gaston County acquired the property at 110 W Main Avenue in Gastonia, originally constructed in 1941. The 3,270 square-foot building currently stands as a vacant shell. An architect has been engaged to design renovations that will align with the County’s operational needs. The planned improvements will create office space for County staff, a collaborative working area for public meetings, and a centrally located venue for project pre-bid meetings and bid openings.
The renovation will also include expanded office space for personnel within the Office of Capital Improvements and the Communications Department. Purpose-built rooms will support podcast production, video editing, and press release preparation. Relocating employees from the Administration Building to this site will help alleviate space constraints in other County departments.
