Project Scope:

Gaston County is adding a guardhouse and access controls to the existing South Point Access Park. Phase 4 of the project will include the construction of a guardhouse for park employees, gate access controls, and widening of the entrance to the park.

Background:

Duke Energy offered to partner with Gaston County to revitalize and upgrade the South Point boat launch area. The master plan included a swim beach, canoe/kayak launch, fishing piers, picnic shelters, and a new guardhouse for park facility. Gaston County will staff and oversee daily operations of the park.
