It is the responsibility of the Tax Office to appraise all property in Gaston County consistent with state laws and to collect all ad valorem taxes for Gaston County.

Appraisal

This includes real property, business, and personal property. Below is a list of different types of property assessed by the Tax Office.

• Real Property - land and all improvements
• Personal Property - (includes but is not limited to: Aircraft, watercraft, unregistered motor vehicles, trailers, and mobile homes)
• Business Personal Property - (includes but is not limited to: Machinery and equipment, office furniture and fixtures, computer equipment, and leasehold improvements.)
