Project Scope:

This project will establish a new 0.5-mile multiuse trail connecting Dallas Park to the existing sidewalk network along Dallas-Cherryville Highway. It is designed to integrate with other greenway connectors serving Dallas and Rankin Lake parks, creating a seamless route for pedestrians and cyclists. Once completed, the trail will provide a continuous, walkable connection between the Town of Dallas and the City of Gastonia.

Partial funding for this project is being provided through the Federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant program.

Background:

Gaston County is collaborating with local municipalities to expand transportation options for residents. This initiative is part of a larger plan to connect the City of Gastonia and the Town of Dallas through an integrated network of trails and greenways. By enhancing pedestrian and bicycle access, the project aims to promote active transportation and reduce reliance on personal vehicles.
